For the best part of 5 years, after a very successful family gathering at Graaff Reinet in 2012, virtually nothing happened in respect of the Andrew Murray Family Association or this website (except for some initiatives in the Western Cape). In 2017 the “new” family committee, nominated at the end of the 2012 Graaff Reinet gathering, was mobilised and various initiatives commenced to revitalise the Family Association and to prepare for the next big Graaff Reinet family gathering (which is due in 2022). News about this can be found by clicking on “News”, under “English” on the horizontal bar at the top, or by clicking on “2022” on the horizontal bar. This website is also now (in 2018) being renovated and might soon be replaced by a totally new website, in association with other modern social media.

Please send any suggestions regarding this website or any other family matters via the contact page.

Would like to access the Murray Register to look up my family details.
I fall under Isabella Hofmeyr (7th or 9th daughter of Rev Andrew Murray)
Would also like to update information.
    Thank you Elmé Breyte

My mother, Frances Daneel Kelly (nee Murray) kept us informed about The Murray Register. However, since she died in 2009 we have lost touch. We would very much like to continue to be part of the register and would therefore like to see a copy of the draft text to see what details of ourselves and our children have been entered. If possible please send us the draft or the relevant part of the draft.

    Thanks, Rob and Glynis Kelly

    To Whom it May Concern

I am a descendent of Andrew Murray through my grandmother Maria Murray Pienaar whose mother (my great grandmtoher) was Henreitta Christiana Neetling whose mother Maria Murray (my great great grandmother) was the eldest daughter of Andrew Pienaar. Henrietta married Pieter Johannes Pienaar who was dominee at Somerset West for almost 50 years. Their son, my grandmother’s oldest brother, was Theo Pienaar who was a Springbok rugby captain who took the first South African tour to New Zealand. My grandmother was a WW1 nurse. I grew up in South Africa but married an Ausralian and now live in Toowoomba in Queensland. I am researching my family and I will be in SA in June 2014 when I’m hoping to be able to collect information and doncuments. I would be grateful for any help in this project.

    Many thanks.
